NetEase Games and Everstone Studio announced that open-world Wuxia action RPG Where Winds Meet has surpassed 100 million players worldwide. The milestone comes as Hidden Mountain Chapter 3 prepares to launch on September 16, 2026, bringing the Hidden Mountain storyline to a close.
The final chapter will put players face-to-face with Qianye, the figure responsible for the tragedy at Blissful Retreat that destroyed the protagonist’s home and separated them from their loved ones. Chapter 3 will conclude the conflict surrounding Hidden Mountain as rival factions make their final moves.
The September 16 update will also add two special bosses and two open-world field bosses, alongside additional activities and gameplay features that have not yet been detailed.
Before the finale arrives, Where Winds Meet will add the Bamboo Cut – Draught martial arts set on September 3. Inspired by Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master, the fighting style uses irregular movements and heavy strikes based around drunken boxing.
The game’s action direction has also expanded with the addition of Yuen Woo-ping as Global Action Consultant. The veteran martial arts choreographer has worked on films including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Matrix, and The Grandmaster.
A separate Extraction Mode is also in development. Players will be able to approach encounters through direct combat, stealth, environmental disguises, or by collecting treasure while avoiding fights altogether. A release date has not been announced.
Players can currently take part in the Ghost Month seasonal event, which draws from traditional Chinese folk culture and supernatural legends. The event brings horror-themed material into the game’s Jianghu setting.
In addition to the 100 million-player milestone, Where Winds Meet has been nominated for Best Mobile Game at the Gamescom Awards 2026.
NetEase Games and Everstone Studio also released a new Hidden Mountain Finale Announcement Trailer alongside the Chapter 3 announcement.
Where Winds Meet is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. , as well as iOS and Android.
