Wasteland 3 Gets Gameplay Details and Spring 2020 Release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Deep Silver announced that the inXile Entertainment developed RPG strategy action game Wasteland 3 will launch in spring 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux.

Wasteland 3 continues the series and bring players back to the post-apocalyptic world. Players will continue their adventure as they assume the role of a Desert Ranger, a lawman in this desolate world attempting to rebuild civilization from the ashes. In this adventure, players will find themselves in the frozen badlands of Colorado and a number of new locations where the Rangers are sure to face hazards, engage in combat and receive a poor reception from the locals.

According to inXile CEO Brian Fargo, “Wasteland 3 is a passion project for inXile and especially me. I directed the first Wasteland in 1988 and its sequel was one of the original great crowdfunding successes, and it’s a series we care deeply about. Thanks to our partnership with Deep Silver and Microsoft, we’re able to deliver the kind of deep, immersive experience that Wasteland fans want and expect.”

During E3, the publisher released the first gameplay trailer detailing the game’s world and environments that players will find themselves in. Additionally, the trailer gives fans a look at some of the wide variety of weapons that will be available to them that seem to cause a mass amount of damage.

During gameplay, players will need to make choices that will alter the narrative. Also, players can expect a refined turn-based combat system along with a new feature and a dynamic conversation system that highlights the weirdness of the Colorado Wasteland. Lastly, there’s the option to play through the storyline cooperatively with a friend.
