Aksys Games announced they will publish the Sonic Powered developed cooking-som Waku Waku Sweets on Nintendo Switch in winter 2019.
Waku Waku Sweets has players take on the role of an up and coming pastry chef named Lime. Through the game, players will be able to create various confectioneries as if they were making them in real life. Using the Switch Joy-Con, players are able to shake, stir, and tilt items as they get the ingredients just right. Players can also spread whipped cream on cakes as they work their way through backing over 100 recipes. Sadly, you won’t be able to eat them, but hey we can’t have everything.
The game also includes some character customization as players will be able to choose their favorite clothes and cook pastries in style. There’s also a visual novel element to the game as players get to go to town and speak with people. Additionally, players can accept pastry missions and share dishes with the townspeople as they climb the ranks to pastry greatness.
The publisher also released a new gameplay trailer for the title so players can get an idea of how they will be cooking it up. It’s quite adorable, even if you’re not a cooking sim fan.
