Square Enix has shared the launch trailer for Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, the next entry in this unexpected series that is now available worldwide. This trailer is incredibly brief but alerts prospective players of the general premise players find themselves in.

This game takes place across several islands that maidens have protected for generations. The protagonist roams the seas with Laty, a girl who failed to become a maiden. However, they, of course, end up facing some sort of disastrous conflict, leading to players having to “circumvent fate” itself. There is a familiar face in the revealed cast of characters, making me wonder about this title’s connective tissue to the initial entry. This is a Yoko Taro endeavor, so there’s bound to be a slew of connections.
Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is releasing for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on February 17, 2022.
