Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden Shares 3 Concept Illustrations Depicting Laty & Lac
Square Enix has initiated a deep dive series on their official Twitter account, sharing concept artwork for the recently released Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden. The first instance of this series has shared Laty, the title’s primary heroine, and the mascot Lac that sits atop her shoulder. But, perhaps most notably, the three illustrations depict different forms of Lac that were thought of throughout the design process.
You can view the official tweet initially sharing these early designs for Laty and Lac below:

This game takes place across several islands that maidens have protected for generations. The protagonist roams the seas with Laty, a girl who failed to become a maiden. However, they, of course, end up facing some sort of disastrous conflict, leading to players having to “circumvent fate” itself. There is a familiar face in the revealed cast of characters, making me wonder about this title’s connective tissue to the initial entry. This is a Yoko Taro endeavor, so there’s bound to be a slew of connections.
A third Voice of Cards entry has been potentially teased.
- Commemorative launch artwork was released depicting the protagonist and main heroine Laty.
- Commemorative launch artwork was released depicting the party members Hyd and Phila.
- Commemorative launch artwork was released depicting the party members Gladio and L’via.
- Commemorative launch artwork was released depicting the party members Blight and Queni.
Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden is now available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
