Dead Apostle Vlov Arkhangel Brings (and Steals) the Heat in New ‘Melty Blood: Type Lumina’ Trailer

Type-Moon have uploaded a new promotional video for the upcoming Melty Blood: Type Lumina confirming that Vlov Arkhangel, a character newly introduced in Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- will be joining the roster of the fighting game. Vlov is a dead apostle, a being that is essentially a vampire, who fulfills an antagonistic role in the visual novel and in the fighting game will assail foes with powerful fire or ice attacks. Voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda, who brings some threatening serenity to the cast.

You can read more information on him, and the other fighters on the roster, on the game’s official website.

Melty Blood is a fighting game series that started as a doujin game back in 2002. It is developed as a collaboration between Type-Moon (Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night) and French-Bread. (Under Night In-Birth, Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax)

This newest entry of the series, is based on the recent Japanese released remake of Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon. As such, this title will also act as a reboot for the fighting series including HD environments, and upgraded visuals reflecting the remake of the visual novel. French-Bread has also rebuilt the battle system to include multiple combos that can be pulled even by newcomers.

Melty Blood: Type Lumina will be released worldwide for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on September 30, 2021. There are no plans for crossplay, but the title will feature rollback netcode.
