Visual Novel ‘Island Diary’ Premieres Opening Movie With Japanese Release Date
Watakubi released the opening movie of their romantic comedy visual novel Island Diary, in development for PC with a March 19, 2021 release date for Japan.
Publisher Sekai Project is currently working on publishing and localizing the game for the west, as announced in 2017. Looking at the publisher’s website’s progress page, it looks like the game is currently about to enter its QA phase, with localization and editing complete. We aren’t sure the game will launch simultaneously in the west.
Island Diary takes place on an island that is home to Momo, a girl with bear ears. Evidently, although she is lively, she still experiences loneliness as her only friends are Kuro, a girl with cat ears, and Moka, a girl with rabbit ears. Their friendship seems to be at odds after discovering a diary, but one day a man washes ashore. The amnesiac man named Ryou doesn’t know where he is or where he came from, but with the help of these girls, I’m sure he’ll be alright.
Island Diary is a romance visual novel with adult themes. However, there seems to be an adult and all-ages version in development.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the western release of Island Diary.
