Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga is now available on PC via Steam. The supernatural visual novel from developer NekoNeko Soft and publisher OVERLAP GAMES launched today as the label’s debut title. A demo is available now on Steam as well.
The game is priced at $17.99, with a 10% Steam launch discount available through July 19. It includes English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese text support.
Set in rural Japan during the summer of 1972, the story follows university student Naofuyu Matsuda as he returns to his grandparents’ hometown with his younger sister, Risa. After hearing about the local legend of Mayoiga Shrine, a mysterious structure said to appear from a lake only during the summer, Naofuyu begins looking into the myth and meets Susu, a girl who has remained trapped inside for years.
The visual novel centers on the mystery surrounding the shrine, Susu’s connection to it, and the memories tied to those who enter. The release also features Japanese voice acting, with Hiroko Taguchi as Susu, Takumi Noda as Naofuyu Matsuda, Mirai Hiroe as Risa Matsuda, Natsumi Yanase as Wakako Karasuma, and Toko Shirasaki as Isuzu Kōkanji.
The soundtrack includes the opening theme “Rainy 1970’s” by Kana Nami and the ending theme “Madoromi SKIP TOWN” by Luce Twinkle Wink☆.
