Matthew Martinez announced that the Devil May Cry-inspired action Metroidvania Vernal Edge will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, GoG, and Epic Games Store on March 14, 2023.
The game was successfully Kickstarted in 2020 and has received several significant updates throughout the years. A demo is still currently available on Steam for those who wish to try it.
Vernal Edge tells the story of Vernal, who has traveled to the floating city of Haricot to exact revenge on her long-lost father. On her journey, she meets a cyborg named Chervil, who happens to also be an amnesiac. They find out together that others are also searching for her father, and many enemies stand in their way.
Players can utilize the game’s combat system, which features juggling mechanics and combos that chain together. Additionally, there are charge attacks and special magic attacks that Vernal can use.
