Originally released on PS2, GrimGrimoire OnceMore tells the story of Lillet Blan, a young girl who recently joined the Silver Star Tower academy and wishes to become a great magician. As she learns the art of summoning familiars, she will have to do her best to deal with the perils hidden within the tower.

A new gameplay mechanic, Grand Magic, has been implemented. This allows access to exceptional skills, such as Mana Burst, which deals fire damage across a wide radius, and Resurrection, restoring the health of familiars. In addition, a new skill tree has also been added, where players can spend coins earned from completing optional missions to obtain upgrades, including familiar strengthening, magic buffs, and more.

Regarding convenience, fast-forward mode does the self-explanatory to make battle actions pass by more swiftly. Further, the newly added Hard difficulty will challenge those who want to push their strategic know-how to their limits. Other new features comprise the aspect ratio being upgraded from 4:3 to 16:9 and voice lines being added to combat.
