In our review of the PS4 version of the game, we gave it an 8 out of 10 score, and mentioned that, “Vane deserves your attention if you’re up to discover its chaotic, scary, and gorgeous world”.
Set in a ruined desert, Vane is an exploratory journey, where players will transform between bird and child form to unravel mysteries and create a path forward through an expansive landscape filled with ominous caves, mysterious machinery, and harrowing storms. The desert that players will explore isn’t just an ordinary, dry world, however — it’s a mythical wasteland that reacts to players passing through as it continuously evolves and builds into something different.
Getting lost in Vane is easy simply due to its beautiful world, but also because the game tells a story without even touching the player’s hand at all. In a nutshell, it’s up to the player to piece together everything within Vane — similar to that of games like Journey and Ico.
