Nacon has shared a new video regarding their upcoming intricate RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, providing personal insight into the development process for this ambitious title. With the tabletop RPG base being an innate part of this game’s identity, a vast degree of research was spent in not only utilizing those fundamental tabletop elements but also creating an experience distinct enough on its own.
Player agency was also an expected challenge the developers had to pursue, considering the source material. Thanks to several social and environmental interactions that breathe life into each locale, each player will undoubtedly approach each in-game situation in their own creative, noteworthy ways.
Adding on this element of choice, players can opt out of particular quests, instead choosing to go back the way they came and avoid gameplay sections if so desired. Again, it’s highly evident that player choice impact was an inherent drive throughout development.
