Square Enix has announced that their remastered release of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is now available worldwide on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Additionally, those who purchased the Digital Deluxe edition of Valkyrie Elysium will have free access to this game. This title is a port of the PSP version and includes new features, notably screen zoom alteration, visual presets, quick saves, and rewinds.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth features the protagonist, the titular Lenneth, as Freya and Odin task her to recruit powerful Einherjar for the upcoming fated battle of Ragnarok. Players have to plan around a time limit dubbed periods, in which time passes after every activity is performed, such as exploring dungeons, entering towns, and utilizing the spiritual concentration technique to identify character events.
The gameplay comprises several avenues of customization, with each of the numerous characters able to learn various skills, equip gear, and more. In combat, players must time their button presses across the turn-based systems to create combos while accounting for the possible affinities the enemies may have. Dungeon exploration is another significant facet via platforming and puzzle-solving with a standout projectile-shooting mechanic that creates temporary platforms to reach out-of-the-way areas.
