Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin Global to Cancel Service in August
Square Enix first launched Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin globally in April 2019. Since then, the game has regularly seen updates and support through crossover events and event banners. However, it doesn’t seem that the game was making enough money since the publisher announced they will be ending service on August 31, 2020.
Service for both iOS and Android versions will be canceled, and the game will stop receiving updates after July 2020. The publisher states that “difficulties” are the reason that service is being terminated. However, the Japanese version of the game, which launched in 2016, doesn’t seem to be in trouble of being shut done.
Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin told a story inspired by Norse mythology and takes place before the events of Valkyrie Profile. Players are introduced to Lenneth Valkyrie, who is preparing for Ragnarok, but she is ultimately conflicted with the end of the world and may even stop the final battle.
It’s sad to hear that a mobile game is being shut done. Given that this is a gacha game, players have most likely put money into the game for certain characters and equipment. Furthermore, the time investment alone for the game leaves even more room to be upset about the shutdown.
