Japanese creative group Daiyonkyokai has released Urban Myth Dissolution Center Exam Archive, an online version of its Urban Myth Dissolution Center collaboration. Players can play it on PC or phones for ¥4,400. It’s worth noting that it’s only available in Japanese, too.
The project originally ran as an in-person event in Tokyo and Osaka from March through April 2026, where tickets sold out across every scheduled date.
Presented as an investigator recruitment exam administered by the Urban Myth Dissolution Center, the game tests players on skills such as investigating social media, understanding urban legends, and analyzing supernatural cases. Passing the exam awards players a digital investigator certificate and leads to a special assignment from Center Director Ayumu Meguriya.
The Archive package also sends physical materials from the original event to the purchaser’s home, including the question booklet, answer sheet, and pencil. Players begin the online portion by following the instructions included with these materials. The investigator certificate is issued digitally after passing, while a physical version can be ordered separately for an additional fee.
To mark the Archive release, merchandise featuring newly drawn artwork by illustrator Kei Mochizuki has also returned to Daiyonkyokai’s online shop.
