Zen-Like Sorter ‘Unpacking’ Launching For PS4 & PS5 Next Week; Development Team Insight
Publisher Humble Games and developer Witch Beam have announced that their tranquil assortment experience, Unpacking, will be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 next week on May 10, 2022.
Throughout this game, players unpack a character’s belonging as they move a total of 8 times. Alongside this seemingly inane series of processes, though, players will subtly uncover aspects of this character’s life story, their likes, dislikes, and many more memorable facets.
This title’s key attributes are summated below:
- Unpacking a home – from a single bedroom to an entire house
- Meditative gameplay with no timers or scores
- Exploring domestic environments with all their nooks and crannies while you stack plates, hang towels, and arrange bookshelves
- Discovering a character’s story through the items that come with her to each new home (and the items that get left behind)
- Soundtrack by BAFTA award-winning composer and audio director Jeff van Dyck
One of the game’s artists and programmers, Tim Dawson, discussed the zen-like experience in more intricate detail via the latest post on PlayStation Blog. He talks about specific items from the game and how they contain his personal touch correlating to his real-life experiences.
