Unannounced FromSoftware Game in Final Stages of Development
4Gamer has shared an interview with Hidetaka Miyazaki, the president of FromSoftware and the director of the recently released Elden Ring. Throughout this interview, Miyazaki confirms that another title they have been working on is in the final stages of development. A 2018 interview initially teased that there were two projects in the works, with one of them being Elden Ring. However, the other project that is nearing completion is currently unknown.
Miyazaki also stated that he is working on his next title as director and that in the future, he’d like for it be on more abstract fantasy material differing from his other games. As for the immediate future, FromSoftware intends on continually updating Elden Ring, and there are many titles in development alongside the unknown one that Miyazaki is directing. However, he emphasizes that he can’t yet share specifics yet.
Immense thanks to Gematsu for translating these significant portions of the interview.
Elden Ring features the action systems that FromSoftware has proven effective through their Dark Souls series, but the team is also focused on building a narrative with this title. With the help of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, the game will feature a fantasy story where players control the fate of this world. Players will meet various characters with their own motivation that may end up helping or hindering progressions. Throughout the game, players will choose the fate of this cursed land by unraveling its secrets and myths.
Elden Ring is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC via Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
