Platformer ‘Umihara Kawase Fresh!’ Gets Western Release Date on Switch and PC

Nicalis announced that the Studio Saizensen developed platformer Umihara Kawase Fresh! will release on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe on July 9.

Umihara Kawase Fresh! is a brand new story in the Umihara series. The game features an open-world platforming adventure starring a girl named Kawase who uses her fishing lure as a grappling hook. This allows her to progress through the game’s unique and challenging level designs as players help her reach her goal.

In Umihara Kawase Fresh! Kawase is tasked with acquiring fresh new ingredients to improve her cooking skills. Throughout the adventure, players will be able to take on tasks and discover the secrets of Kingness, a town that is “new to her yet somehow familiar”.

Gameplay revolves around jumping, climbing, and slingshotting around levels to get to the goal. Additionally, each complete quest can be replayed in Time Attack mode that will be added to an online leader board for players to aim for the top slot.

Umihara Kawase Fresh! will launch digitally and physically on Switch in North America only and digital-only in Europe.

The publisher released a new trailer teasing the game fairly quickly, but hey, it’s something.
