Umihara Kawase BaZooKa Delayed to Improve Multiplayer Infrastructure

ININ Games announced they will delay Umihara Kawase BaZooKa’s release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch from its July release window until September 29.

The delay was needed to give the developer time to improve the game’s worldwide multiplayer infrastructure for more stable match ups. Given that this is an online-centric game, it would be expected that the team makes sure this system works at the time of launch. The delay will affect the digital and physical release of the game.

Umihara Kawase BaZooKa takes place in the Umihara Kawase universe, but instead of only a single-player mode, players will get to clear screens of enemies together. Players get to team up with characters from the series as well as other series and access various areas using fishing rods to get around.

The idea here is to hook enemies or even another player to cause damage. Additionally, players are able to shoot balls, which is where the bazooka in the sub-text of the title seems to come from.

There’s a competitive multiplayer mode in the game as well where players can participate in a deathmatch style area to clear the room of their friend. The mode supports up to four players and also offers a team-deathmatch mode. There are online and offline modes available to players as well.

We’ll be sure to keep you up-to-date Umihara Kawase BaZooKa’s release.
