Umbraclaw Will Feature Full English Voiceover, Confirms Inti Creates; 2 Roles Revealed

Inti Creates has announced that its upcoming 2D action game will feature a full English language voiceover. Additionally, two of the cast roles have been revealed. Protagonist Kuon is voiced by Jenny Yokobori, while “Feline Kuon’s voice was graciously provided by volunteers from Director Nishizawa’s household.” Further, Kuon’s owner, Tsukomo, is voiced by Christina Assaf-Costello. In case you missed it, check out the latest gameplay trailer.

The Blaster Master Zero series director, Satoru Nishizawa, is at the helm of this project, meaning this experience will be at least moderately challenging. A single hit will instantly spell death, though the Anima Revive mechanic can revive Kuon with a new skill by absorbing the soul of another animal. However, revival can only occur up to nine times. Some animal skills are the following:

  • Elephant – Trunk snatches enemy projectiles from midair
  • Crow – Wings grant one mid-air jump
  • Tyrannosaurus – Roar attack with powerful shockwave.

Further, after repeated deaths, Kuon will enter a humanoid form built for combat. Throughout the story, you’ll encounter other fallen souls heading for the underworld, and various endings are achievable depending on your choices and actions.

Umbraclaw will launch digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on May 30, 2024.
