Effective on January 1st, 2019, Ubisoft will be replacing Alain Martinez with Frédérick Duguet as Chief Financial Officer.
Duguet has been with Ubisoft since 2009, currently operating as Chief Financial Planning Officer. Prior to experience in the games industry, Frédérick Duguet had management and finance positions at Procter & Gamble and L’Oreal.
Duguet has contributed to Ubisoft’s “digital transformation and recurring revenues.”
Below is a statement from Co-Founder and CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot about the transition:
“The appointment of Frédérick as Ubisoft’s Chief Financial Officer is excellent news for the Group. His expertise, intimate knowledge of the company and deep understanding of the value creation drivers in the video game industry are all assets that will greatly aid Ubisoft in its new development phase. On behalf of all Ubisoft teams, I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to Alain for his unfailing commitment throughout his 19 years with the company. With passion and rigor, Alain has been instrumental in shaping Ubisoft’s success and the Group’s profile as we know it today.”
Author’s Take: I personally like the fact that Mr. Duguet has experience with fashion brand, definitely could continue to give him an interesting look into managing video games and hopefully stop funding Assassin’s Creed games.
