Two New Persona Games Planned for 2024, Says Sega COO

Outlet CNBC recently spoke with the Sega Chief Operating Officer, Shuji Utsumi, regarding the company’s continued growth and success, particularly with Sonic the Hedgehog.

However, in an almost throwaway comment, it’s revealed that two new Persona games are planned to launch in 2024. No elaboration was provided regarding these two titles, but assumptions can be made. One is certainly Persona 3 Reload, while the other is more up in the air.

A probable title is Persona 5: The Phantom X, the Asia-only mobile game that has had no word of an English release. Or it could be a new title altogether; it’s all just predictions at this point rather than anything concrete due to the vagueness of the statement.

The interview also noted that Sega is looking to adapt its IPs to attract new consumers, with Like a Dragon and Persona stated as explicit possibilities. Further, there are no plans for Sega to be acquired by other companies, including Microsoft.
