Psychological Thriller ‘Twin Mirror’ Gets Narrated Gameplay During Paris Games Week

Bandai Namco released new gameplay from the Dontnod developed Psychological Thriller Twin Mirror, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam in 2019, in classic Dotnod episodic fashion.

The video introduces the player to Sam Hayes as he is traveling to Basswood to attend the funeral of his best friend. However, viewers learn about Sam’s double, an alter ego that Sam relies on to push the narrative of the game and how Sam copes with various situations.

Mysteriously, Sam finds out that after blacking out he might have gotten into some trouble. This is where the player figures out a different power that Sam has, which allows him to enter his mind a recreates moments to gather information. Additionally, players will speak to the townspeople in order to see who he can trust as he figures out exactly what he did.

Author’s take: This game had a rocky start, but with companies like Telltale games closing down I feel like Dontnod won’t be next in line for this same fate. This is because they try so many new things and push themselves to build upon their story-driven adventures and make them a must play experience.
