Saber Interactive has confirmed that Turok: Origins will launch in Spring 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The announcement came during Gamescom Opening Night Live, where the publisher also showed a new story trailer before releasing an extended cut.
Developed by Saber Interactive in collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, Turok: Origins brings back the long-running dinosaur-focused shooter series with a new emphasis on cooperative play. Players take on the role of members of the Order of the Turok, who are fighting against the Xenia, an alien force threatening humanity.
Combat can be played from either first-person or third-person perspectives, with players using plasma rifles, sniper weapons, bows, shotguns, and experimental alien technology. Weapons can be upgraded over the course of the game, while collectible Echoes grant additional Turok abilities that can be used to customize different combat approaches.
Turok: Origins can be played solo or through online co-op. Players will face dinosaurs, alien forces, and larger boss encounters while moving through the Lost Lands, which include jungles, ancient ruins, and extraterrestrial environments.
The extended version of the Gamescom story trailer provides a longer look at the conflict between the Order of the Turok and the Xenia, along with additional gameplay footage featuring combat, dinosaurs, and several of the environments players will encounter.
Turok: Origins is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam in Spring 2027.
