Turn Based RPG ‘Sea of Stars’ Reveals “Wheels” Minigame

Sabotage Studio recently uploaded a new video highlighting one of the minigames in their upcoming turn-based RPG Sea of Stars, called Wheels. At taverns throughout the game, players can either choose causal or champion matches and winning the latter grants one-time rewards.

There is quite a bit going on here, but the primary goal is to match icons into various wheel reels to enact several beneficial effects. While there is obviously luck involved, part of the challenge here is knowing how to embrace an on-the-fly strategy, depending on what you roll. It seems like a pretty fun time.

Sea of Stars stars Valere and Zale, two characters with the same fate of becoming Solstice Warriors. Each shares the power of the Sun and Moon to perform what is known as Eclipse Magic to fight against an evil alchemist, The Fleshmancer.

Combat in Sea of Stars has players take control of six-party members in turn-based RPG systems. The game also removes level grinding as character skills are unlocked through game progression and not tied to how many fights are taken. When battles occur, players must use their tactical skills to make it out and pre-emptively counter powerful enemy attacks.

Sea of Stars ran a successful Kickstarter to fund its development, with the most recent trailer showing 19 minutes of gameplay.

Sea of Stars will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on August 29, 2023. It will launch on Game Pass day one.
