Retro Turn-Based JRPG, “Meg’s Monster” Launching for Switch, Xbox & PC March 2023; Deltarune Singer & Atelier Ryza 2 Composer

Developer Odencat has announced that their retro turn-based JRPG, Meg’s Monster, will launch for Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PC via Steam, and Mac on March 2, 2023, for $14.99 / €14.99. The title was initially meant to launch in October 2022.

Taking place in the Underworld, where all manner of creatures devour humans, an ogre named Roy and his friend Rolan encounter a lost human girl named Meg. Thankfully, Roy has no interest in eating them, though the duo discovers a shivering fact about this human girl. Her tears have the ability to initiate the apocalypse, and to prevent that occurrence, Roy tries to help Meg find her mother.

Throughout the game, Roy is essentially invincible with 99,999 HP, but protecting Meg is the real challenge. Using toys to play with her and mastering several other mechanics and minigames will be needed to prevent this girl from shedding tears.

The soundtrack also deserves exceptional attention as Monster Hunter and Atelier Ryza 2 composer Reo Uratani is responsible for the music and overall design. Additionally, Laura Shigihara, known for Deltarune and To the Moon, sings the main theme.

We’ll be sure to keep you all updated on this exciting release. You can check out the game’s Steam page for dedicated information, as well as a free demo.
