FINJI Reveals ‘Usual June’ in New Trailer; Coming to PC in 2025

Finji, the developer behind Overland and Canabalt and the publisher of Tunic, Night in the Woods, and Chicory: A Colorful Tale, revealed their newest game, Usual June, in development for PC via Steam with a 2025 release window.

Usual June is being headed by the creative direction of Adam Saltsman, known for Overland and Canabalt. The game benefits from the collaborative narrative expertise of Sweet Baby Inc., who has contributed to titles like Alan Wake 2, God of War: Ragnarok, and Spider-Man 2, and the BAFTA-winning audio direction of Adam Hay, recognized for his work on Dreams and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture.

The game centers around June, a college student with the unique ability to communicate with ghosts. As June, players explore a Midwestern city, befriend a lively mix of characters (both living and spectral), defend against mysterious creatures, and unravel the city’s deep-seated secrets.

Usual June is designed to captivate players with its frantic and adaptable combat system, witty and diverse cast, and an intriguing conspiracy plot that balances elements of terror, humor, and warmth. The game’s narrative and visual style draw inspiration from graphic novels, presented within a fully realized 3D world, promising an immersive and multifaceted gaming experience.
