Triangle Strategy Announced for Meta Quest With October Release Date; New Trailer Highlights VR Gameplay

Square Enix made a surprising announcement today with the reveal of Triangle Strategy coming to Meta Quest on October 31, 2024, but pre-orders are available now. The game will launch for $29.99 and will be developed by Frima and Team Asano.

The publisher released a new trailer showing off the new gameplay where players can hover across the battle screens and control units. It honestly looks really cool in execution so please watch it. The VR version of Triangle Strategy on Meta Quest 2 and 3 offers a new immersive experience, allowing players to view the battlefield from any angle with 360-degree movement. This added layer of visual depth provides a fresh perspective on the tactical combat, making strategic placement and decision-making more intuitive.

Set on the war-torn continent of Norzelia, Triangle Strategy is a tactical RPG that dives into the political machinations of three powerful nations: Hyzante, Aesfrost, and Glenbook. This world has long been shaped by conflicts over two vital resources: salt and iron, culminating in the historic Saltiron War. Now, an unexpected event throws the balance of power into chaos, and the player, guiding the protagonist, must navigate these unfolding tensions.

One of the game’s key features is its conviction-based decision system, which tests players’ sense of justice across three values: Utility, Morality, and Liberty. Choices made throughout the game significantly shape the story and influence which characters will join your party. Voting systems in the game allow players to sway their allies and determine the direction of the narrative, making every decision impactful. In addition to its deep strategic combat mechanics, Triangle Strategy offers players a mix of classic turn-based tactics with modern narrative weight.
