Nihon Falcom has announced via its latest financial report for the fiscal year ending September 2025 that a remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, is planned to be released during the fiscal year ending September 2026.
The same document also confirmed that the updated version of Ys X, Ys X: Proud Nordics, will be released for the PlayStation 5, although the exact timing is unclear. Currently, only PC and Switch 2 versions are available, with the West release coming next year.
The document does mention that other ports are planned, though none have been specified.
Lastly, the developer has confirmed that the Trails series has sold over nine million units worldwide, following its confirmation of eight million sold units in August 2024.
About Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
Set in the Liberl Kingdom on the continent of Zemuria, The Legend of Heros: Trails in the Sky follows Estelle Bright and her adopted brother Joshua Bright as they strive to become Bracers—protectors of the people. However, their journey soon intertwines with an ominous conspiracy threatening their homeland.
This trilogy is available on PC in the West, though enhanced Vita ports, titled Evolution, were launched in Asia and feature bonus content and voice acting. This remake features new voice acting, enhanced visuals, and an enhanced gameplay system based on the partial action and turn-based mechanics of the franchise’s Calvard arc.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

A new area, Öland Island, is explorable; the largest landmass that Adol and Karja find on the Obelia Gulf. Here, they meet the new characters Caunte and Astrid, another pair of Shield Brethren from the Kingdom of Danmerk, which has a mutual non-aggression pact with the Balta Seaforce.
However, despite that agreement, this pair is here, leading to questions about their presence, the island’s secrets connected to Grimson, and truths about the Normans and Mana.
A major new location is the Divine Realm of Muspelheim, a dungeon that has a time limit alongside traps and powerful foes. However, amidst its difficulty, rare items called Deepcrystal Shards can be spent to lessen the dungeon’s restrictions via time limit extensions, enemy stats changes, and more.
Ys X: Proud Nordics is available in Japan on Nintendo Switch 2, and in Asia on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
