Touken Ranbu Warriors Gets New Trailer Introducing the Blade Boys’ New Tale

Koei Tecmo has shared a new story trailer for Touken Ranbu Warriors. It showcases the premise of this new tale of the blade boys who protect history from revisionists. The action game in Musou-style will be released in the west exclusively on Nintendo Switch in May 24, 2022.

Developed in a partnership between the traditional Musou powerhouse Omega Force and the Koei Tecmo otome branch Ruby Party, the game is based on Nitroplus’ and DMM Games’ Touken Ranbu IP. The series has an online strategy game for PC and mobile called Touken Ranbu: Online, which was recently released in English, as well as multiple anime and manga iterations.

Touken Ranbu Warriors takes place in a setting where the Government of Time sent a Saniwa to protect history from people who wish to change the past. In order to accomplish this mission, this person had the chance to turn legendary blades into become handsome and powerful warriors.

However, one day the Saniwa’s base, Honmaru, was suddenly attacked by the History Retrograde Army. After a fierce battle that caused major damage to the base, the Saniwa disappeared. Fifteen blades somehow managed to stay despite the Saniwa’s disappearance. With hope to one day see their master again at the Honmaru, the blade boys must fight against the insurmountable odds of the HRA.
