Touken Ranbu Warriors Brings Its Blade Boys Battlefield West With A May 2022 Release Date
Koei Tecmo has announced Touken Ranbu Warriors is coming west. The Musou-styled action title will be available exclusively for Nintendo Switch on May 24, 2022 in both physical and digital versions. The game is based on the multimedia franchise Touken Ranbu, which had its original strategy game, Touken Ranbu: Online, released in the west this year.
The franchise Touken Ranbu takes place in a world in which history revisionists are trying to alter the past. It’s up to the Saniwa to awaken Touken Danshi, which are weapons with spirits that can assume human form, and fight against those who try to go against the natural order of time.
In Touken Ranbu Warriors, the History Retrograde Army attacks the Honmaru base. Despite overcoming the threat, the Touken Danshi are unable to avoid the big damage to Honmaru and during the battle the Saniwa has mysteriously vanished. Now it’ll be up to them to investigate what’s going on and fight to uphold the mission of the Government of Time.
Besides the announcement, the company has shared a 28-minute-long video presenting the game, which you can see below:
