Survival Horror ‘Tormented Souls’ Launches on PS5 and Steam; A Nice Way to Close Out the Month

PQube has launched the Dual Effect and Abstract Digital Works-developed survival horror Tormented Souls on PlayStation 5 and PC PC-via Steam. The team also promises that the Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions are still on the way and coming soon. There’s also a physical release for PlayStation 5 for $39.99, with the digital version available for $19.99.

Tormented Souls is meant to be a love letter to classic survival horror games such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Still, the game takes a modern approach to the design by including a fixed-perspective experience that has been improved with a new control scheme and a dynamic camera. They hope that this retains what fans loved about the older titles in the genre.

During gameplay, players will investigate the disappearance of twin girls at Winderlake as Caroline Walker. However, she finds herself fighting for her life naked in a bathtub to escape this nightmare. Players will need to stay sharp in order to stay alive.

The game has you search and manage your items as well as solve environmental puzzles in order to progress. That’s not even taking into consideration the nightmares that await players behind doorways. Caroline has the power to manipulate the fabric of reality and turn some deadly situations into an advantage.
