Ten of Our Favorite Games Shown During E3 2021 Day 2

Day 2 has come to an end. If you missed out on Day One, please be sure to check it out. Now, let’s get to the games:

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy

This title is a third-person action title set in the first Final Fantasy world and mythology. The protagonist, Jack, alongside his 2 allies Ash and Jed, enter the gates of the Chaos Shrine, intending to defeat the appropriately named Chaos. However, these 3 main characters have memories sealed within their hearts, and the obvious question is if they are indeed the fabled Warriors of Light. Garland, the primary antagonist of the first Final Fantasy, is also present.

This game is bloody and action-intensive with multiple jobs, weapons, abilities, and difficulty levels. Team Ninja has a lot to live up to here, but we have faith in this experience being a memorable one.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising / Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Eiyuden Chronicle

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is set before the events of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and is officially the first entry of the series. The game takes place in the same world and tells the story of various characters who will appear in the main game. These backstories are blended with fast-action combat and town-building mechanics. The game is also a 2.5D platformer, which is largely different than the JRPG mainline entry.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes are coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and all major platforms in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Replaced

REPLACED

This sci-fi action platformer where players assume the role of R.E.A.C.H., an AI trapped in a human’s body, and they don’t want to be there. Players will encounter moments of exploration and action combat with a ton of beautiful pixel designs. The game is influenced by films such as Blade Runner and Upgrade, which set the dark-themed foundation of the narrative.

Replaced is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022.

Psychonauts 2

Psychonauts 2

The beloved puzzle platformer from Double Fine Studios will finally be back in a new entry. Following Razputin “Raz” Aquato, a young psychic who has finally achieved his dream of joining the Psychonauts. An elite squad of psychic super spies, but things aren’t looking so good for them. Their leader has been different ever since he was rescued after a kidnapping, and there’s a mole in the organization. We are looking forward to jumping back into the quirky world of Psychonauts.

Psychonauts 2 is coming to Xbox Series X|S, One, PS4, and PC

The Outer Worlds 2

The Outer Worlds 2

The Outer Worlds 2 is set in the same world as the original game. This entry stars a new crew and ship, but all of the writing from the first title should be there. Players can make choices that affect the story in ways that you don’t expect in this FPS RPG. We are looking forward to the next adventure in the universe.

The Outer Worlds 2 is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC

A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Playgue Tale 770x433 1 e1623607785996

A Plague Tale: Requiem coming PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. Game Pass on Day 1. Switch version available cloud-only.

Dodgeball Academia

Dodgeball Academia

Dodgeball Academia introduces Otto, where he joins the ultimate dodgeball championship. The school is like no other, and we’ll follow Otto as he trains alongside other students to master different abilities and skills to take out opposing teams. Gameplay features an upgrade and level system to customize the player’s team. Further, the narrative will explore the history of the school in an RPG story mode.

Dodgeball Academia is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2021.

Sacrifire

SacriFire

Sacrifire is a turn-based RPG inspired by 9os JRPGs. The game is influenced by titles such as Vagrant Story and Xenogears. The story is fueled by standard RPG tropes, where players will travel between two worlds, the city of Antioch and Erebus. Combat merges real-time and turn-based systems where players can choose from multiple weapons and attack specific parts of an enemy to bring strategy to the system. We are definitely looking for to learning more about this game.

Sacrifire is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PC-via Steam, Epic Game Store, and GOG for a 2022 release.

Soulstice

Soulstice

The Wraiths have invaded, and the Chimera are the only ones who can stop them. We’re introduced to Briar and Lute, two sisters who have been turned into Chimera. Briar has acquired abilities, but Lute has sacrificed herself to become a Shade, which grants her mystical powers. They must work together to take down the enemy before all hope is lost. One thing is for sure, though; this game looks like something we want to play asap.

Soulstice is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022.

Rune Factory 5

Rune Factory 5

Rune Factory 5 takes the series to new heights as it opens the world through various means of exploration. Players can run through dungeons, fight monsters, and meet new characters, but from a new 3D perspective. Typically, these games are played with an over-the-top view of the town and characters, but this latest entry seems to switch it up to provide a new experience to players.

Rune Factory 5 is currently in development for Nintendo Switch for a 2022 release in English.
