Activision announced they will publish Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a remastered version of the first two titles in the series developed by Vicarious Visions, the same developer on the recent Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. The game will include updated versions of each of the levels with the skaters and locations that players will remember. The publisher revealed that the original soundtrack for the game will also be featured in the release.
“The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is a big factor in the evolution of modern skateboarding tricks and inspiring many of the pro skaters you know and love today,” said Tony Hawk. “I’m excited to help inspire a new generation of skateboarders and gamers – and existing fans – to grow the sport even further.”
Along with 4K resolution support, players will find that the game also features updated mechanics such as revert, lip tricks, wall plans, and manuals. Create-A-Park and Create-A-Skater modes have also returned along with multiplayer game modes, both online and local. The levels will also include new goals and challenges.
The complete roster of original pro talent, including Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Elissa Steamer, Chad Muska, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Rune Glifberg, Kareem Campbell, Jamie Thomas, and Bob Burnquist.
“Getting the chance to bring back the original two games which had such a meaningful impact not only on gaming but on an entire sports genre, has been an epic experience for our team, many of whom worked on the original series,” said Jen Oneal, Studio Head at Vicarious Visions. “We’re taking what you knew and loved from the original games and mixing that with enhanced creative tools which will allow gamers to invent brand new ways to play the game they love. We’re confident it will be the ultimate Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater experience fans have been asking for.”
The game will launch for $39.99 with a digital deluxe version available for $49.99, which includes in-game gear. There’s also a collector’s edition for $99.99, which includes a limited-run Birdhouse deck.
Digital pre-orders will earn players access to a demo of the Warehouse level this summer.
