Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint Opens Registration for September’s PvP Closed Beta

Ubisoft announced new details for their upcoming shooter Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 4.

The publisher has opened registration for a planned Closed Beta taking place on September 5 through September 8 to allow players an opportunity to get their hands on an early version of the game’s multiplayer PvP mode “Ghost War” and get a preview of the game’s campaign. Ghost War is scheduled to launch with the game and will continue to receive updates post-launch with regular balancing updates and improvements along with new maps and classes.

Ghost War is a 4v4 mode where players will need to utilize tactical squad gameplay that the Ghost Recon series is known for. At launch, four classes will be available for players to choose, Assault, Panther, Sharpshooter, and Medic. Each class fulfills a role in the squad and will each be crucial as they engage with enemies across six maps. The mode also introduces cover mechanics and a terrain and injury system that was adapted from Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s campaign. At launch, the multiplayer mode will support Elimination and Sabotage modes.

Ghost War has been integrated into the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint experience. The player will progress in PvE and PvP with the same character and keep their unlocked classes, skills, customization items, and weapon across both modes. There will be some tuning in PvP to ensure a fair and skill-based experience.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint features a handful of innovative gameplay mechanics as players take on an ex-US military unit gone rogue known as the Wolves. Essentially, the enemy went through the same training as the player and they have seized the archipelago of Auro. Players will need to work towards taking out their leader Colonel Cole D. Walker, who is a former teammate.
