Nintendo announced that the Atlus co-developed RPG Tokyo Mirage Session #FE Encore will launch on Nintendo Switch on January 17.
Originally released in 2015 on Wii U, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE takes place in a world full of strange happenings. The game takes place in popular Japanese regions and features a memorable cast of characters as well as a musical theme that is connected to the game’s overall story. During the game, characters have the power to access an ability known as Performa, which is somehow connected to their dreams. Performa is also what attracts being known as Mirages who appear to be from a different dimension. Some of these Mirages are evil, but others can be used for the power of good and their abilities can be harnessed within the chosen character.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will release on Nintendo Switch and bring the game to a new, more popular, console. However, the trailer shown contains the altered images that were implemented into the North America release on the Wii U. It hasn’t been confirmed at this time whether or not these changes will be in the final Switch release, but we can only hope that Nintendo’s recent change of heart concerning the content in the west has also changed their minds about this title.
The trailer does mention the Switch version will contain a new song as well as new story elements that were not in the original release.
