Tokyo Dark Developer Reveal Newest Game Exit Veil; An Adventure RPG With Turn-Based Battles and Tarot Magic

Dangen Entertainment announced they will publish the Cherrymochi-developed adventure game Exit Veil to PC via Steam and Consoles at an unannounced date.

The publisher confirmed that a short demo will be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2023. The team welcomes any feedback from players as they press on through development.

Exit Veil,  players embark on a journey as Tori, a lost soul navigating a world that is both hauntingly beautiful and on the verge of deterioration.

Tori’s entry into this enigmatic realm is prompted by a cryptic message from a long-lost family member, drawing her into a world where the mystical and the ordinary coexist. This world is inhabited by a myriad of entities, including Archetypes, Egregores, Servitors, Daemons, Angels, and The Machine-Elves.

During gameplay, players will confront a malevolent force of decay that lurks deep within the Labyrinthine Realms. They hold the power to guide Tori as she endeavors to restore harmony and heal these realms. The choices players make will ultimately determine whether Tori succeeds in bringing equilibrium to this world or remains forever lost within the labyrinth.

At the heart of Exit Veil lies an innovative gameplay experience centered around the mystical art of Tarot. As players explore the game, they will delve into the intricately designed EXIT VEIL tarot deck, unlocking insights that extend beyond the boundaries of the game itself, touching on the realm of self-discovery. This integrated tarot card system will serve as a guiding tool for players as they strive to heal the realms, uncover their true selves, and unravel the enigma at the core of the narrative.

Collecting tarot cards also leads players into tense, turn-based battles that echo the mechanics of MMO healer classes, where the brink of oblivion is always looming. The EXIT VEIL tarot deck not only empowers the player’s in-game abilities but also serves as a conduit to concealed secrets within the game’s world.

Additionally, there will be a physical EXIT VEIL Tarot deck available. Cherrymochi has expressed its intention to infuse Exit Veil with elements reminiscent of JRPGs, including intricate narratives, characters grappling with their inner truths, and strategic turn-based combat.
