2D Roguelike ‘Tokoyo: The Tower of Perpetuity’ Gets 0.2 Update Adding 32 New Maps
Playism announced that TOKOYO: The Tower of Perpetuity from solo indie developer Saebashi has received an update for its Steam Early Access.
Titled Version 0.2, players will find 32 new map variations along with a new trap type. Additionally, the game now has a new boss, Lula of the Dark. Currently, players can choose one of four characters to run through the dungeon, Cocoa, Kanae, Shippo de Tail, and Kukuri. Each character has a unique skill to use, such as blade shield, fire control, and homing fireballs.
TOKOYO: The Tower of Perpetuity features a tower that procedurally generates every 24 hours in real-time. Along with the layout, changes are new enemies and trap placement. Players will aim to obtain the top rank each day to see who can get the furthest. This reduces the chance of any memorization, but there’s an added layer of split routes that might make it more difficult.
The game features some online social elements, such as when you die, a gravestone will appear along with some select final words for players to see. Additionally, there are character customization options to choose from, with more being added.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the development of TOKOYO: The Tower of Perpetuity.
