A fan translation of the Super Famicom version of the original Tokimeki Memorial dating sim has been revealed to be approaching completion, per a tweet courtesy of one of its lead volunteers, linked below.
I've got good news for all of you heartthrobs out there.
The translated script for Heartthrob Memorial: Under the Tree of Legends has been fully inserted!
We'll work hard to make sure everything's just right before it gets released. It's pretty exciting, though! pic.twitter.com/jCm2v4SUcy

The series has famously gone unlocalized in English since its inception, despite being commonly upheld as the title that codified the dating sim genre. The first game has received numerous ports, each with a different subtitle. The Super Famicom version, originally titled Tokimeki Memorial: Densetsu no Ki no Shita de, has been translated as Heartthrob Memorial: Under the Tree of Legends. The patch also updates the title screen with a new logo, as pictured above.
The series contains six main games and several dozen spinoffs, most notably Girls’ Side, a full side-series exploring the titles from the perspective of female characters. The original Tokimeki Memorial has received a wave of notoriety due to a long-form Action Button review of the title going viral after premiering in 2021. While the Super Famicom version has previously received a partial fan translation, this full-scale translation was announced last year. Despite a short period of inactivity from the development team, the above screenshots seem to indicate that progress has been going smoothly.
