Water Phoenix Visual Novel ‘Stand by You’ Retranslated and Rereleased as ‘Together We Live’ on Steam

Publisher KEMCO and developer Water Phoenix have released Together We Live on PC (Steam). This is a new edition of a game originally released in English as Stand by You, sporting improved English translation, Traditional Chinese and Japanese language options, and improved visual assets.

The story of the visual novel follows a boy called Kyoya. After he wakes up in a dark room, he meets a mysterious girl who was just passing by. She tells him that the world is no more but he doesn’t believe her.

To figure out what is going on, Kyoya decides to stick by her and the two set off on a journey through the ruined world. Besides looking for other living beings, the two will soon have to deal with the harsh circumstances of the girl’s life.

The girl walks around without sleep to atone for mankind’s sins. She must die multiple times, coming back to life right after. Watching all the suffering she has to go through, Kyoya decides to show her a gentler, happier side of the world.

The game’s written and illustrated by R, who was also responsible for Archetype Arcadia and the Japanese-only Water Phoenix titles like Saiaku Naru Saiyaku Ningen ni Sasagu, and Kekkon Shugi Kokka.
