Adventure RPG ‘To the Moon’ Soars to Nintendo Switch This Summer

Freebird Games and X.D. Network announced that the adventure indie RPG To the Moon will release on Nintendo Switch in summer 2019.

Originally released in on PC in 2011, To the Moon was developed using RPG Maker XP. This version of the game has been remade in Unity by developer X.D. Network using the original blueprint of the game.

The game is a story-driven adventure that dives into the idea of death and memories where a dying man named Johnny Wyles wishes to go to the moon. Players will explore Johnny’s memories and learn more about him and his life. New characters will be introduced who will reemerge at different points in his life as characters learn why he longs for the moon.

As Director Kan Gao eloquently put it “To the Moon is about seeking fantasy from reality.” And when it comes to the decision on having the game fully remade and ported, “Even under such a freemium-lead market, it’s never too late to bring this heart-gripping story to a whole new group of players.” says Shen Sheng, CTO and the Development producer of the Switch version from X.D. Network.

The developer also released a new trailer showing the game running on Switch hard, which you can watch below:

Author’s take: This was the first game that I downloaded on Steam so it also holds some interesting memories in my life.
