Unties announced that the Area53 developed turn-based strategy game Tiny Metal has launched a new update adding online multiplayer mode on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam.
The free update allows players to face off against human opponents across 11 multiplayer maps. Players will be able to plan assaults, rush opponents, and pretty much do everything they could do in the base version of the game online against friends and strangers.
Additionally, the update adds six new story missions to the game for players to play through an entirely new storyline. The developers state the new campaign will be full of twists and give further details about the game’s world and the state of the war effort.
Tiny Metal is a turn-based strategy game where players are able to deploy 15 different unit types, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. The game borrows the gameplay flow of past titles like Advanced Wars with a story of conflict and tension as Lieutenant Nathan Gries leads his troops through a 20-hour campaign.
“Tiny Metal already delivers a great single player experience with deep, nostalgia-inducing gameplay reminiscent of Advance Wars,” said Hiroaki Yura, Area35. “Now we’re taking it a step further, enhancing what’s already there while opening it up to the new opportunities for fun and strategy that can only come from playing against another human being.”
Tiny Metal is available now on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam.
