The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Sells 1 Million Units in Japan; Commemorative Art
CD Projekt Red has announced that their action-adventure title, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has sold over 1 million units in Japan specifically. To commemorate the occasion, a celebratory illustration was drawn by @terra_da_k.
The title has currently sold over 40 million worldwide, which might increase significantly once the free next-generation update arrives on December 14, 2022, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Players, new and old, can look forward to a plethora of visual and technical improvements, such as ray tracing support, swifter loading times, mod integration within the base experience, and new content inspired by The Witcher series on Netflix. 4K textures and models, a 60 FPS mode, a Photo mode, and cloud saves will also be integrated.
Further, this release will include all previous DLC, such as the “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine” expansions. Moreover, a physical edition of this improved experience is planned, though details on release timing have yet to be shared.

In case you missed it, a remake of the first Witcher game using Unreal Engine 5 technology is in the works. CD Projekt Red also announced multiple new incoming games, including from The Witcher series, during their strategy meeting earlier this year.
