Action-RPG Sequel ‘The Surge 2’ September Release Date Revealed, Pre-Orders Are Now Live

Developer Deck13 and publisher Focus Home Interactive have announced that The Surge 2 will be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam on September 24.

Those that want to make sure they get their hands on the game can pre-order The Surge 2 now on Steam and the Xbox Store. There currently isn’t a live US listing on the PlayStation Store, as of right now. Pre-orders will include the URBN Gear Pack, featuring Warren’s Cutter from the original game, the full-body URBN armor set, the URBN Judgement Axe, the URBN Skimmer Drone and its Lootscan.exe Radar Module, plus a unique online message icon. The pack will be made available for purchase separately at a later date.

Furthermore, The Surge 2 will get a Limited Edition release, which comes with the following:

  • The Surge 2 game with an exclusive sleeve
  • Lenticular exclusive cover
  • Exclusive 8-page comic book
  • Double poster with artwork and game map
  • 3 exclusive lithographs

The Limited Edition is also available for pre-order from select retailers worldwide.

The Surge 2 is the sequel to the action-RPG The Surge launched in 2016 by Deck13, who’s also known for Lords of the Fallen. With The Surge 2, Deck13 plans on making it even better than the original, especially with its enhanced limb-targeting combat system that lets players specifically chop off any enemy body part they’d like. There’ll also be an expanded arsenal of weapons, armors, abilities, implants, and drones to build your character, and a bigger, and more ambitious world.
