The Surge 2 Gets New Gameplay Trailer Showing Limb-Chopping Combat and Stunning Environments

The Surge 2, the action-RPG sequel from Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive has a new gameplay trailer showing limb-chopping, dynamic combat, stunning environments, and plenty of other goodies that’ll separate it from its predecessor.

Similar to the previous Surge title, Surge 2 will give players the power to literally slice and dice enemies apart as you control your very own exo-rig (hi-tech suit) that packs a serious punch. With the limb targeting system making a return, players can choose which limb(s) they’d like to chop off.

While, of course, this is madly unique in its own right, it also will come in handy when fighting against the many deadly foes you’ll come up against in intense battles. But every battle needs to end at some point, right? Well, the new trailer shows that even more brutal, flashier, and bloodier finishers (finishing attacks) have been added to Surge 2. Also for the combat side of things, the trailer lets you witness all the new weapons, environments, enemies, colossal bosses, and moves in the game.

Also just like the first title, Surge 2 takes place in a dystopian future filled with mechs and humans. However, as the new trailer shows, players will set foot in and explore a new city, Jericho City, a massive, sprawling location where a nanomachine infestation threatens the inhabitants. Taking a nice stroll isn’t really going to be an option as different factions ranging from cultists to common gangs litter the streets for players to fend off and collect new gear from. To survive the nightmare you’re in, you’ll need to upgrade, big time, by collecting TechScrap and equipment pieces by tearing off enemy limbs to equip them to your exo-rig.

Get ready to suit up and try to survive when The Surge 2 launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam on September 24 — it’s also now available for pre-order.

Witness the game’s brutal combat, along with the stunning environments within Jericho City by watching the trailer:
