The Surge 2 Gets a Launch Trailer Before Release

Publisher Focus Home Interactive has released a launch trailer for The Surge 2, the action-RPG sequel from developer Deck13 — coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam in just a few days, on September 24 and is now available for pre-order.

With The Surge 2, players — both those that played the first game and those new to The Surge series — can expect to enjoy much of what the sequel will have to offer. Whether it’s its standalone story or innovative gameplay, or how it improves upon The Surge in several ways, players are most likely going to find something to like in The Surge 2. The launch trailer does an excellent job of showing what I’m talking about.

The Surge 2 will present a harsh, sci-fi, dystopian world, called Jericho City, to explore and survive in — which was in the spotlight in the recent cinematic story trailer. Rather than being an already-picked-out character, players will be able to create their own character and decide how to approach the hardcore and brutal melee combat. Thanks to deep character progression and customization options, players are going to have the ability to make a character that truly fits their playstyle.

Those that played the original will find that The Surge 2 will have many additions over the original game, including challenging but rewarding directional parries and companion drones. Limb-targeting and executions are back and better than ever, and players will have the power to target, loot, and equip everything they see on their enemies.
