Playism announced they will publish the newest adventure from Akatsuki Taiwan’s indie game studio Silver Lining Studio (Behind the Frame) called The Star Named EOS, to release worldwide in 2024 on PC via Steam.
The Star Named EOS is a storytelling puzzle adventure game that utilizes panorama technology to create explorable environments for players who must use photography to solve puzzles and progress the narrative. This system encourages players to look thoroughly throughout the levels to recreate scenes from past memories and take pictures of them, unraveling the mystery surrounding the protagonist’s family and finding a love that was long left unrealized.
During gameplay, players assume the role of Dei, a young photographer following the footsteps of his missing mother. Often away from home traveling, Dei could only imagine his mother’s daring adventures through the photos and letters she sent to him as a child.
After noticing something strange in one of the pictures she had left behind her, everything Dei had believed is challenged. Now, guided by a voice deep within him, it’s time that Dei sets out to find the truth of his mother’s disappearance and finally move on.
The Star Named EOS features a hand-drawn world where players can interact with almost everything they see. The puzzles range from intermediate to challenging as you progress through the scenes. The game also has full voice-acting for the characters.
We’ll keep you updated on the development and release of The Star Named EOS.
