Fruitbat Factory announced that they will publish the Tokyotoon developed visual novel The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart on PC-via Steam for worldwide release on June 17.
The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart tells the story of Nora who has been turned into a black cat. After living with his adopted sister, Shachi Yuuri, for years alone, the duo seemed to be doing pretty well for themselves. However, one day, he was walking through a park and bumped into a girl named Patricia. It just so happens that this girl was the Princess of the Netherworld and was sent to our world on an urgent mission: To grant death to all living things. Nora sees her struggling with this and offers his help which gains her respect.
The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart feature 40 hours of story with multiple routes for players to find themselves on. The game will support English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese (soon).
Additionally, the developer has released a demo of the game that is available now for players to enjoy. The game originally launched in Japan in 2017 and received an anime adaptation as well.
There is an 18+ version of the game available, we reached out to the publisher to see if this version of the game was also coming west.
[UPDATE]: After reaching out it seems like the 18+ version of the game will not be coming west due to licensing reasons on the developer side:
“There’s no 18+ version coming at the moment for voice licensing reasons (the developers are only allowed to use the console version’s voices outside Japan).”
