The Outlast Trials Reveals Gameplay in New Trailer; It Looks Pretty Freakin’ Scary

Red Barrels revealed The Outlast Trials gameplay during Gamescom 2021, and it looks terrifying.

The Outlast Trials is set in the era of the Cold War, where humans had to act as guinea pigs for the Murkoff Corporation and test advanced methods of brainwashing and mind control. This entry in the series features multiplayer modes for players to work together but mostly be scared together.

Currently, The Outlast Trials is in development for PC for a 2022 release. The new trailer shows gameplay for the first time, along with some of the environments that players can navigate. However, we also see that players will be able to fight back somewhat against enemies by setting traps and throwing items. Still, there seem to be ways that players can sneak by enemies as well, so there are multiple ways to approach objectives.

We’re definitely looking forward to learning more about this game.
