The Original Kingdom Hearts E3 Press Kit Has Been Found, and It Rules
YouTuber 13th Vessel has posted some fascinating Kingdom Hearts assets, specifically, the contents of the original Squaresoft E3 Press Kit from all the way back in 2001.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series, 13th Vessel posted a series of beta images and a download link for the entire original E3 Press Kit. Included in the kit is a magazine ad with beta screenshots, the original logo for Kingdom Hearts, an iso of the disc itself (full of beta images,) press releases with minor details on the development of the game, and more.
It’s pretty interesting to see so many previously unknown (or never before seen in HD) assets, especially to observe all the small differences between the beta and the final product. The press release about the first game is worth reading too, as it contains tidbits of information about the game, like that it was in development for two years by E3 2001, and the emphasis on Sora, Riku, Kairi, and the Heartless being Disney characters, specifically.
It’s always cool to see behind-the-scenes info and beta content from games, so be sure to check out the tweet below, as well as the press kit itself, for all the details on the original Kingdom Hearts.
Today I have a very special surprise! 🎁
